How the marketplace works
A seller lists products with the count on hand, the condition, the ship-from warehouse and the return terms. A shopper, or a shopper's agent, reads the product page, gets a quote with shipping to a ZIP code and places the order. The seller ships the order and records the tracking number. CommerceBook holds the payment until the seller ships and pays the seller 2 business days after delivery unless a dispute is open.
Who sells and who ships
Each product page names the seller and the warehouse the order ships from. The seller ships the order and the seller's return terms apply. CommerceBook verifies every seller before its products are listed.
How payment works
A shopper pays by card, by bank payment or from a CommerceBook balance. Stripe processes every payment, and CommerceBook never sees a card number. The shopper pays the quoted price with shipping and no added fee. CommerceBook refunds the original payment method.
Returns, shipping and the rules
The Returns page states how returns and refunds work. The Shipping page states the seller's ship time and the delivery time. The Policies pages state the rules of the marketplace in plain words, and the Terms of membership state them in legal form.
