There is one crystal on this piece that stops you. It sits up off the druzy like it grew there on purpose, clear enough to see straight through, with proper flat faces meeting at a point. The rest of the plate is packed edge to edge with tiny sparkling crystal tips, and a second smaller crystal juts out near the bottom where you would not expect it.
It is a compact piece, small enough to hold in one hand and light enough to sit anywhere. Set it where the afternoon sun can reach it and the whole surface lights up at once.
Apophyllite grows inside the gas pockets of cooling volcanic lava, forming slowly out of hot mineral rich water over thousands of years. Every glassy face on this piece built itself one layer at a time inside a bubble in the rock, which is a slow and unhurried way to become beautiful.
In crystal healing traditions apophyllite belongs to the third eye and the crown, and it is often called the Stone of Truth. It has a reputation for clearing the mental fog that settles over a busy week, for making meditation feel easier to drop into, and for lifting the feeling of a room the way opening a window does. People who work with it describe it as honest and bright, a stone that helps you say the thing you actually mean. Keep it near where you write, or breathe, or think, and let it do the quiet work of making the air feel lighter.
