A big polished ocean jasper tower, covered in orbs and cut with a band of deep translucent green.
Look at it for a minute and it keeps giving you things. Rings of black and cream stacked like tide pools. Rust orange blooms with pale centers. Little white starbursts scattered through the darker patches. Then, a third of the way up, the stone changes its mind entirely and opens into a wide band of green you can see into. Polished on every face to a pointed top, and it stands on its own with nothing holding it.
Ocean jasper is an orbicular jasper, which means those round patterns are real structures that grew outward from seed points inside the rock, not a surface pattern.
Now for the fun part, and this one has a genuinely good story. The first ocean jasper came from a single stretch of coastline in northwest Madagascar, from veins that sat below the tide line and could only be worked at low tide. That original coastal seam has been worked out. Material still comes from inland deposits a little further in, and those are the ones known for the stronger greens, which is very likely where this piece began.
Crystal lore made it the stone of joy long before that was a marketing line, and the reasoning is nice: all those orbs read as bubbles, as things rising, and lore holds it as the stone for people who have gone flat and would like to feel like themselves again. It gets tied to flow and to abundance for the same reason, the sense of things moving toward you rather than away.
The green band adds its own note. Green is the color lore gives to growth and to the heart, so a piece that runs from busy patterned stone into calm clear green reads as the whole arc, the noise and then the quiet.
Towers get chosen when someone wants a piece that lifts the eye and holds a corner. Put it on a desk where the work happens, or anywhere you want the room to feel a bit more alive.
