A palm sized piece of malachite full of bullseyes. The polished front is a swirl of deep forest and bright emerald green, with rings inside rings like ripples frozen in stone, and a few of them rise into soft rounded bumps that catch the light as you turn it. Flip it over and the back is left rough and natural, dark green and crusty, so you can see exactly what this stone looks like before it meets the polishing wheel.
It comes on the metal stand in the photographs, with two small clips that hold it upright so the bullseyes face the room.
Malachite forms in layers as copper rich water seeps through the earth, and each band you see is one of those layers laid down over time. The round eyes form where the layers grew outward around a single point, which is why no two pieces ever look alike.
