Description

She is the one that makes people stop mid sentence. A big raw plate of fibrous malachite, about 5.75 inches across and 4.25 inches tall, held up in the light on a custom steel stand with a solid wood base, so all of that green faces the room. The front is a field of velvet rosettes, hundreds of tiny fans of needle crystals packed shoulder to shoulder, and the color runs from deep bottle green in the hollows to a soft frosted sea green where the light catches the tips of the fibers. Turn it and the back is a completely different stone, dark botryoidal malachite in smooth rounded bubbles, like the plate was poured and set. Both faces are exactly as they grew. Nothing here has been cut or smoothed.

The stand does the work for you. Two steel arms cradle the plate from behind and a third rests it against the wood base, so the malachite floats a couple of inches off the surface with light getting in around every edge. It needs a spot with room to breathe, the middle of a console table, a shelf at eye level, the corner of a desk where the afternoon sun can reach it, and it will read as a small sculpture from across the room. The stand in the photos is included.

Malachite is the stone of transformation, the one crystal lore hands to people in the middle of a change they chose. It is read as a guardian stone, absorbing what is heavy in a room and asking you to be honest about what you want next, and it has been carried, worn and ground into pigment for that green since the ancient Egyptians. It is associated with the heart chakra and with the kind of courage that is quiet rather than loud. Fibrous malachite in particular, with its thousands of tiny fans, is taken as the growth form of the stone, patience made visible. A plate this size is meant for a home rather than a pocket. Set it where you make decisions.

The product photographs and the video show the exact piece you will receive.

Please note: this is a raw natural specimen. The velvet fibers are delicate and will shed a little green dust if rubbed, so handle it by the edges or the stand, keep it dry and out of direct water, and dust it with a soft dry brush or a puff of air. Malachite is a copper mineral and should not be used to make elixirs or placed in drinking water.

Because natural minerals are delicate and can be damaged by the stress of shipping, we are unable to accept returns. If your item arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours with photos and we will make it right.
