She is the warm one, the color of honey held up to a window. A big polished sphere of banded calcite, cream and butter and caramel in soft stripes that wrap the whole way around her, some bands thin as pencil lines, some wide and cloudy, so every turn shows a different pattern. The polish is high and smooth, and the bands catch the light in a slow sweep as you move around her. She rests on the small carved wood stand in the photos.
She wants a coffee table, a console in the entry, or the center of a dining sideboard, somewhere she is the first thing the eye lands on. At about 5.25 inches across and over ten pounds she is a two hand sphere and a real presence, the piece a room gets arranged around.
