A big standing geode, eight inches tall and just under seven pounds, with a whole face of sparkling druzy quartz in silver gray and white. The crystals are small and tightly packed, so the face reads like frost on a window from across the room and like a field of tiny glass points up close, and every light source in the room finds a new sparkle in it. Around the druzy the rough gray rock of the geode wall wraps up the sides and over the back, so from behind it is a plain stone and from the front it opens up.
The base has been cut flat and finished so it stands on its own without a stand, the way these big cut base geodes are prepared for display, and it is a heavy, settled piece that is not going anywhere once you set it down. Four and a half inches across at the widest, it takes up real space on a surface and earns it.
Druzy quartz is read as the stone of quiet steady energy, the many small crystals working together, and gray and white druzy is associated with clearing and settling a room rather than charging it up. Quartz in general is called the master amplifier in crystal lore, said to hold and magnify whatever intention you bring to it, and a druzy face is read as spreading that gently in every direction. Set it where the light changes through the day, a windowsill, a console under a lamp, or the middle of a bookshelf, and turn the sparkle toward the room.
