A polished labradorite freeform cut so the whole front face lights up electric blue when you turn it toward a lamp.
Labradorite only does this from certain angles. Hold it straight on in dull light and it is a plain gray stone with a few cream and rust colored patches. Tip it a few degrees toward a window and the entire face floods with deep blue, broken up by dark seams where the crystal changes direction.
The front is where all the flash lives. The back and sides are left as smooth polished gray green, so the piece reads quiet from behind and dramatic from the front. The base is cut flat.
Put it where it will catch a moving light source, near a window, beside a lamp, on a desk you walk past. A stone like this is wasted in a dark corner because the flash is the whole point, and it only shows when the light or the viewer moves.
