A big, heavy, earthy tower with a surprise running down the front. The body is a deep chocolate brown, mottled and marbled with rust and tan. Cutting straight down the front face is a seam of banded agate that opens into a pocket of white druzy quartz, so the whole front sparkles under a lamp while the sides stay warm and quiet.
Set it where the light rakes across it, on a mantel, a bookshelf, or the corner of a desk, with the seam turned toward the room. Morning window light picks up the druzy first. In the evening, a lamp to one side lights up the druzy against the brown. It is tall enough to anchor a shelf on its own and heavy enough that it stays exactly where you put it.
