Almost black until the light finds it. Turn this one toward a window and the sprays wake up, silver blue fans opening across the faces like something caught mid burst. That is where the trade name comes from. Suppliers call this material firework stone, and once you have seen it move in the sun the name stops sounding like marketing.
The sprays are arfvedsonite, a sodium amphibole that grows in fanning blades and throws a blue flash in the way labradorite does, from the structure of the crystal rather than from any coating. Scattered between them are deep red brown patches of garnet, and in the raking light you can pick out the boundary where one gave way to the other.
Photographs get about half of it. A still image freezes the flash at one angle, and the whole appeal of this stone is what happens when it moves. The video shows it better than any photo can.
Arfvedsonite has a reputation as a stone for seeing a thing through. It turns up in descriptions of self reflection and honest assessment, the kind of look inward that leads to an actual decision rather than more circling. People who keep it tend to reach for it when they want to stop deliberating and start moving.
The garnet running through it is read as the fuel for that, the steady heat under a plan. Garnet is an old stone of commitment and endurance, and finding it inside a stone of clear seeing is part of why this combination gets picked up.
The tower form is read as focus, energy gathered wide at the base and carried up to a single point. This one is a desk piece more than a shelf piece, small enough to pick up and dark enough to hold a room's attention without shouting.
The product photographs show the exact piece you will receive.
