A polished agate heart with a pocket of white druzy quartz across the top, tiny crystals packed like sugar that flash when she turns in the light, ringed by a band of soft blue white lace and a wide sweep of smoky gray and brown agate that runs to the point. The bands curve with the shape of the heart, so the whole face reads like a landscape seen from above. The back is the same agate in deeper browns and grays with a second soft blue band running through it. She sits in a slim gold metal stand that holds her up at the point, and the stand comes with her.
At about 5.5 inches across she is the right size for a nightstand, a desk or the middle of a bookshelf, big enough to read from across the room and light enough to move when you want her somewhere new. Set her where side light can reach the druzy, a window to the left or a lamp beside her, and the top of the heart will sparkle every time you walk past.
