A big polished sphere of banded calcite, cream and butter and caramel in soft stripes that wrap the whole way around her, some bands thin as pencil lines, some wide and cloudy, so every turn shows a different pattern. The polish is high and smooth, and the bands catch the light in a slow sweep as you move around her. She rests on the small carved wood stand in the photos. She wants a coffee table, a console in the entry, or the center of a dining sideboard, somewhere she is the first thing the eye lands on. At about 5.25 inches across and over ten pounds she is a two hand sphere and a real presence, the piece a room gets arranged around. Near a window the bands come up, and under a lamp she reads like a small sun. Calcite is read in crystal tradition as the stone of easy energy, the one that clears a heavy room and gets things moving again, and the honey and orange shades are tied to warmth, confidence and a lift in mood. The sphere shape is read as wholeness, sending that warmth out evenly in every direction. Together they make the piece for the room where people gather, the friend who makes everyone feel welcome the minute they sit down. She is the one who makes a room feel like afternoon. The product photographs show the exact piece you will receive. Specifications Stone: natural banded calcite, polished sphere Size: about 5.25 inches across Weight: 10 lb 9.8 oz with the stand Please note: this is a natural stone and the bands are exactly as they formed. Calcite is a soft stone, so keep her out of water and away from hard knocks. The light box photos read a little cooler than the stone does in daylight. Because natural minerals are delicate and can be damaged by the stress of shipping, we are unable to accept returns.
