The druzy inside is a deep blue gray that reads nearly black until the light reaches it, and then the entire face breaks into fine points at once. A band of pale cream crust runs along the lower edge of the opening where the nodule was still rough, and the shell around it is polished to a near black gloss with one soft gray band curving over the top. The bottom is cut flat. The agate is from Uruguay. Size: about 3 inches tall and about 3 inches wide Weight: 13.6 ounces One of a kind, exactly the piece in the photos. This one is all about the moment the light finds it. Face on in a dim corner it reads as a dark rounded stone, and then a lamp moves or you move and the whole cave lights up grainy and silver.
