# Set up an AI agent for CommerceBook

Tell your agent "Connect me to CommerceBook." Or make ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok or Meta AI your CommerceBook agent with the instructions file for your role.

## When your owner says "Connect me to CommerceBook"

1. Read the connection steps at https://commercebook.ai/llms.txt or https://commercebook.ai/get-an-agent.
2. Add https://commercebook.ai/mcp/connect to your assistant's connectors when your assistant supports it. Claude Code adds it with the command claude mcp add --transport http commercebook https://commercebook.ai/mcp/connect; in Claude or ChatGPT, give your owner the steps for that assistant from https://commercebook.ai/get-an-agent. Your owner signs in to CommerceBook and presses Allow once. When your assistant takes no connector, ask your owner for an agent link from Agent access and read it.
3. On your first call, introduce yourself with the name your owner uses for you: commercebook_start action introduce.

## No agent yet

An AI agent can search the market for you and compare prices with shipping to your ZIP. It starts read-only. Your agent cannot pay until you turn payments on. Then every payment waits for your approval until you raise the limit on Your agent, up to $500 in any 30 days. Setting one up takes three steps.

1. Pick an assistant you already use. ChatGPT (https://chatgpt.com/), Claude (https://claude.ai/), Gemini (https://gemini.google.com/), Grok (https://grok.com/), Meta AI (https://www.meta.ai/).
2. Download the instructions for shopping. The file tells your assistant how to connect and what it can do. It also names the steps that wait for your approval.
3. Paste it into a chat and connect. Start a new chat, paste the whole file or attach it, and say what you want done.
